What data do we collect?

We collect the following data:

Personal identification information (Name, email address, phone number, etc.)

We only collect data required to contact you in relation to activities in which you’ve registered an interest.


Sailing Vision Trust Data Statement

Sailing Vision Trust is a not-for-profit charity run by volunteers and we will only ever ask for minimal personal information which is essential to run our events.  

Your information will only ever be shared with those who ‘need to know’ eg the skipper of your boat (most details), transport co-ordinator (arrival and departure times), catering staff (food allergies)

We will never pass your personal details to anyone who is not directly involved in the organisation of our events, who doesn’t need to know, or to any external organisation, person or business.

We keep your details secure at all times.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide SVT with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register your interest in participating in our activities.
  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback via email or other digital or manual collection.  
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.


How will we use your data?

SVT collects your data so that we can:

  • Process your registration for activities and events.
  • Email you with notifications and news about events and activities we think you might like.


How do we store your data?

SVT securely stores your data on laptop computer equipment of the Charity Chairman and Administrator and is backed up in ‘the Cloud’ via Microsoft 365. Our database is password protected. 


SVT will keep your contact details until you indicate that you no longer wish us to retain them. Periodically we will check that those people on our database still wish us to retain their records. You can request to have your details removed from our records at any time by emailing mail@blindweeksailing.co.uk


Marketing

SVT would like to send you information about news, activities and events that are upcoming.

If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.

SVT will never share your details with third party organisations for marketing purposes.

You have the right at any time to stop SVT from contacting you for marketing purposes

If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, please email mail@blindweeksailing.co.uk


What are your data protection rights?

SVT would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request SVT for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that SVT correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request SVT to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that SVT erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that SVT restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to SVT's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that SVT transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
