Sailing Vision Trust

Welcome to the Sailing Vision Trust.  We are a not-for-profit charitable trust whose aim is to help visually impaired (V.I.) people experience the freedom and empowerment of watersports - especially coastal sailing.

SVT is also a community that brings together visually impaired sailors and would-be sailors with sighted volunteer skippers, crew and helpers. We organise sailing activities, and develop and support technology specifically designed for the visually impaired sailing community.

News

We are now pleased to announce the dates for the next Sailing Vision Week in 2025 - which are Saturday 28 June to Saturday 05 July 2025 and will be hosted by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club in Falmouth, who have now confirmed that Sailing Vision Week 2025 and these dates are firmly in the Club’s diary.

As usual, invitations to participate will be sent out in late December 2024 by email to all those who are on our mailing list and previously supplied their contact details to us. We will be particularly keen to attract new volunteer skippers, yachts and VI crew. So please pass on this ‘save the date’ information to anyone who might be interested in taking part! If you are not yet on our mailing list then please email us at mail@sailingvision.org providing your full name and email address, and please indicate whether it is the VI mailing list, or sighted skipper and crew list you want to be added to.

Sailing Vision Week

Sailing Vision Week is an inspiring event that takes place each year, giving around 60 blind, partially sighted and visually impaired people the chance to develop sailing skills by crewing aboard cruising yachts.

Technology for V.I. Sailors

As part of our commitment to helping visually impaired sailors get the most from their sailing, the Sailing Vision Trust is helping to create some of the most innovative technology available to the V.I. sailing community.
